Memories in the Mycelium

My second painting for the Art show in Athabasca this Saturday.

Nature connects us. Ninety percent of plants need mushrooms to live. Mushrooms connect us and remember everything; they are a living archive of the earth. The Mycelium is the main body of the mushrooms, a fibrous network that helps plants grow and sends information, often called “a living internet”

The mushroom in the painting is a Morel, a mushroom prized for its flavour by many humans. Everything I pained is in a white haze because it is a “memory” it is the past, present, the future, everything, everywhere all at once. Part of the cycle of life, death, connection, and comfort.
